what works REALLY well for me and other people i know is boiling a pot of water then pouring it into a bowl, putting a towel over your head with your face right above the bowl and sitting there and breathing deeply for 10-15 minutes.after youre done take the tip of your fingernails and scrape off the blackheads.they come right out of your pores since all the steam loosened them up.its cool to see all the blackheads come off.i haaaaate blackheads.so annoying and stubborn.but ya that works for me! =]
    Hot compress

    repeat

    push the nose gently upwards

use an acne wash to wash face

Toner (Witch hazel) it balances the face and closes pores.

    Do this once a month.

(the acne or face wash and toner twice a day)

Really bad blackheads on my nose - Proactiv or dermatologist?

I have really bad blackheads on my nose, and I've had them for quite a while. Does Proactiv actually work, or should I just visit a dermatologist?Really bad blackheads on my nose - Proactiv or dermatologist?
    Hi ELizabeth

Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood and removing excess waste in the body.

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems.';

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin.';

Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.

    Natural Cures

    1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot %26amp; spinach, celery %26amp; watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.

    2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases.

    3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.

    4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.

    5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.

Best of health to youReally bad blackheads on my nose - Proactiv or dermatologist?
NO Proactive is not as good as they say it is. My brother tried it and honestly the over the counter stuff was better, Why dont you just try a facial scrub like St. Ives Apricot scrub for black heads. And use some tweezers to see if you could remove them. If they are really that stubborn I would get A loofah and scrub my whole face with it, It will definitley remove them.
An ideal mask that extracts dirt and oil from clogged pores can be made by using orange peel and yogurt. It also opens up the clogged pores that cause acne and blackheads.Clay masks used regularly helps pull out trapped oil and dead skin.Check out http://useinfo-blackhead.blogspot.com/ for more useful tips to control blackheads.

i can't help you much considering i dont have your skin. i would try different face washes and if none of them work for you i would go to a derm
Do it everyday.....after taking bath when ur skin is soft rub it with a sterlised towel, almost all blackheads will come out in the towel
go for a good facial therepy.it will definately remove all ur black heads.or otherwise u can also apply baking soda.
go to a spa %26amp; they will squeeze them for you your skin will be clear its cheap C=

    good luck
Urgh... DONT SQUEEZE! It spreads infection creating even MORE blackheads...

Firstly, you steam your face as it opens pores..

Then use a really good facial scrub (St Ives Apricot Scrub) paying really good attention to areas with extra blackheads...

Next apply a mask that specialises in drawing out impurities.. Try Mudd Original Mask! Ive used it myself and Ive seen great results with it http://www.ciao.co.uk/Mudd_Original_Mask鈥?/a>

LASTLY, after washing off the mask, apply a toner! Try Clinque toner (really good aswell)

Just one thing.. you'll have to do this twice a week continuously to see results! Keep your face clean in between treatments! =)
DONT worry this wont hurt of get the area wet wash with soap and DAB not rub its spreads bacteria. staralyze a pin and put it on the side of the black head and push it out it works every time trust me i done it before!
try a face peel. there is one from Joey New York that you put on your face, leave on for a minute, and then just roll the mask off your face (sounds a bit wierd) and it takes all the impurites off your face and pulls the blackheads right out of your pores! :)

DO NOT USE AN APRICOT FACIAL SCRUB. LIKE THE ONES FROM ST. IVES. They are sooo rough on your skin and damage/break your capillaries. good luck!

How do you get rid of bad blackheads on your nose?

My daughter has really bad, deep, big blackheads all over her nose. She has little to no acne on the rest of her face. She washes twice a day with clearasil blackhead scrub and it dose nothing. Please help and please seriouse answers only. No rude comment or jokes she is 11 years old and gets her feelings hurt really easily. Thank you so much for your time and help. How do you get rid of bad blackheads on your nose?
Blackheads are simply pores clogged with oil and sebum [ wax produced by skin ], since they remain open to air, they get a bit of dirt - thus the blackhead.

1] buy some facewash, toner, sunscreen, and moisturizer for her skin type. She should wash, tone, and sunscreen in AM, and wash, tone, and maybe moisturize in PM

2] get Aapri or St Ives apricot scrub - she should exfoliate every two days til skin improves

3] get some Biore pore strips. Read directions first, and use after a nice hot shower [ steam will open up pores ]. Then apply the strips according to instructions.

4] after strip is removed, use Toner only - no lotions or potions. Give pores a chance to heal and close

5] use wash and toner only for two days

6] get some acne cream or gel to dab on her nose in daytime to absorb some oil

7] keep baby wipes or acne pads in PE locker to clean face after sweating

8] when she starts to wear makeup, besure she buys non- comedogenic products - they say so on packaging

9] cornsilk powder is excellent for absorbing oil on noses!

I have been using it for 37 years - no blackheads!

10] diet may help- avoid all fried, fast, and junk food - even diet junk food

11] a multivitamin with minerals every day

12] drink 1/2 gallon of water a dayHow do you get rid of bad blackheads on your nose?
this what i did. i went to a spa and had a facial. the lady there did a good job and picked my black head out, but at first it turned into a pink bump, and it took 2 weeks to look normal again.
ouch, i can see how that could be hard.

the easiest way is to just pop them and then put acne medicine on them at nights for about a week afterward so the redness goes down.

have her wash her face EVERY night/day with a combination face wash/acne medicine.

it hurts a little but it's a lot less ugly.

[i had one under my nose a few days ago and i popped it and now it looks a lot better.]

    good luck! (:
im 11 to i get made fun of too and i hate it i have little pimples and id try putting on avon pipmple cream or pop it
you're really sweet about this. have you tried the biore nose pore strips? you should, it sets in deep into the pores to remove them. if not, lightly poke the blackheads with a clean sewing needle and try to squeeze it out. i know it'll hurt but in the end, it'll be gone. and after squeezing them out, be sure to have her wash her face and use toner %26amp; a non-comodemic (won't clog pores) moisturizer so it won't clog her pores again.
there called deep cleansing pore strips there made by biore' they are in a green box with a woman on the front with one on her nose i love them and hope she does good luck
You must read the Battle Plan For Getting Rid of Blackheads. A product with salicylic acid (a BHA) will help.

first- are you SURE they are blackheads? maybe not whiteheads? if she has oily skin (but ONLY if she has oily skin) for her to try proactive. its a little expensive, but it will be worth it when her face glows!! (:
Pop them and the black will come out with no blemish. They are easier and faster to get rid of than whiteheads if you pop them. Or go to the dermatologist like I did and have them take them out.

How to get rid of really bad blackheads on my nose?

I have these blackheads on my nose. They barely look like blackheads anymore (everyone actually thinks they're freckles) but they're definitely blackheads. I've probably had them for 5 years or so and I've tried strips and exfoliating but they don't go away. I feel like they're too deep in my skin and that's the reason why they're not coming out and are also not very dark. Is there ANYTHING I can do to make them go away? How to get rid of really bad blackheads on my nose?
pop 'emHow to get rid of really bad blackheads on my nose?
are you sure they're not just enlarged pores? you say they barely look like blackheads, maybe they're not. do they look more like tiny deep holes in your skin? you could try a good foundation makeup. first use a moisterizer and then put on a good foundation. not too much so that it looks cakey. just enough to go over your nose and fill in those enlarged pores. i don't know how old you are but you say you've had them for 5 years so you have to be at least a teenager. while you're at it, try the foundation on your entire face for a nice, smooth look. they do make foundation especially for people with enlarged pores. good luck!
Hm, that's odd that they haven't gone away...

St. Ive's has an apricot scrub that deals with blackheads, maybe try that. and there is also a product from clean and clear(i think) that is a cream or gel and you leave it on where you have blackheads to make them go away. Maybe take a steamy shower to open your pores and wash your face, then put on the product.
IF you have insurance., go to the doctor and ask for Azelex cream. I have the same problem and it works great! The only bad thing is that it will dry your skin bad to the point where it's peeling. But you can keep that under control with moisurizer. Hope this helps.
Hey, I am going through the same point, but a little less insane. I think you should try steaming off your face with a cloth/towel and hot water. As soon as the cloth/towel gets colder, place a biore pore strip. Wait for around 20-30 minutes then remove the strip off your nose. Rinse your face yet again but with cold water this time to close back the porse.

    GOOD LUCK!

i have the same problem , well i always use just regular soap and it does wonders for me , just rub it on your nose for a few minutes and it will do wonders it go rid of mine in like a month.
really? Those biore pore strips don't works? They temportarily remove mine. They always come back because the pore never shrinks, but for a tiime it removes atleast some of them.
go get a facial. done. worth the money
after the shower, when theres alot of moist in the air, your nose will be soft and humid so then squeeze your black heads, it'll be easier
i PUT POWDER ON THEM LiKE AS iN MAKEUP AND GET A DRY TOWEL AND SCRUB THEM OFF.... MiNE ALWAYS COME OFF OR GET GOOD EXPENSiVE WiPES.
Just plan old cleansin ponds cream works for me!!??!!
I was going to say strips but you done that so try to get a facial
dunno but i hate black heads im with you
use tweezers and get em gone girl

    Bad blackheads?

my family is known for having huge pores and we have bad blackheads!

what creams/face wash/anything could i use to make my blackheads come out?!

Also what is a blackhead? some people say its oil and some say its dirt and some say its both!Bad blackheads?
A blackhead is a non-inflammatory acne lesion that is filled with excess oil and dead skin cells. Meaning, it's just oil and dead skin. It can get worse with dirt.

I used to have terrible blackheads on my chin. But I used Clearasil Ultra Daily Face Wash. Salicylic acid is really good, and St. Ives makes a nice facial wash with apricots and 2% salicylic acid (I use this as well.) Also try Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel at night, that gets blackheads, whiteheads and acne gone a lot quicker. Also try stuff with Zinc Oxide in it, and benzoyl peroxide (but not ProActiv. That stuff dried out my face really quickly.)Bad blackheads?
Its both oil and dirt and man do they suck my 13 year old daughter has them bad. I know a web-site that has home remedies that have worked well for her. I will send you some links.

    Good luck, sweetie.

    GK
you can try using masks once a week, and and exfoliating once or twice a week if it doesnt dry out your face too much. i use the body shop's tea tree oil blackhead eliminating mask. it seems to work, you just can't overdo it (or any mask/exfoliator) because it will dry out your skin and cause more acne/blackheads. the best thing to do is to use a moderate treatment.

  • How do you prevent scarring after popping a blackhead?

So, last night I was trying really hard to pop this stupid blackhead that has been on my nose for a long time. I really regret it now, because I obviously had no idea what I was doing and squeezed too hard or pulled off some skin or something, because now my nose has this big patch the size of a quarter where it looks like the skin has peeled and its reaaaaaaaaally red and sore and unsightly. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before and maybe had suggestions as to how to heal it and prevent scarring!? Would be much appreciated! How do you prevent scarring after popping a blackhead?
There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about.

It was even televised on TV.

It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It has been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks)

Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site.

This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at:

Search up ';best acne solution ever'; on ebay.

First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can buy the whole container for $160

It's expensive, but the product DOES work.

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.

I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

    I hope this helps. =)

    PLEASE HELP!!!! PREVENT BLACKHEAD SCARRING!!!!!?

Last night I squeezed a blackhead. I did it lightly, so I could avoid scarring. But when I woke up this morning the skin where I had popped the blackhead was red and a bit puffy. I tried putting peroxide on it. But I don't really know what I'm supposed to do. I'm having my mom pick up some vitamin k cream (I heard that helps with scarring) and any other product that can help with my face. I REALLY don't want to have a scar!!! It won't be very small either if it does scar. I can't afford a dermatologist. So I would love some At-Home Remedies that are SAFE and EFFECTIVE. Please help! Please!!!!PLEASE HELP!!!! calm down. It will stop being red and puffy, it is just irritated from you squeezing it. Don't squeeze pimples/blackheads. Use acne meds and also one with salicylic acid in it to prevent blackheads from forming.
Don't put peroxide on it for gods sake, leave it alone and it will go down, it is only puffy from being squeezed - you won't be able to tell after a day or two.

Product that prevents blackhead/whitehead from forming.. any suggestion?

I too have very oily and acne/blackhead prone skin. I tried a line called Dr Hauschka which is kind of expensive and does not control the oil but helps with blackheads and breakouts. Take a look at makeupalley.com for reviews on products. Professional facials along with a daily routine help. No product will completely take away the oil permanently. Use Sephora or clean and clear blotting papers. They are a little different from the tissue paper type blotters and work well for me.

My daughter is 9 yr old, and has sterted getting spots, and even blackheads on her nose how can i prevent this

You can't the spotting and the blackheads, well, her hormornes are changing. You can start her on a skin regime. If you are that concerned see a dermatologist and he will recommend products to you for her to use. My friend too just took her 10 year old daughter to the doctor, and the doctor told her that underneath the breast/nipple of your child, if she has started/entered puberty, there will be a very distinctive bump.

This a very good opportunity to talk to your daughter about the changes her body is going to go through. Don't do what so many mothers have done before you and muck it up by making her feel embarrassed or talking about it in a way that she is confused and and feeling like she is unable to ask you questions. My daughter is 9 yr old, and has sterted getting spots, and even blackheads on her nose how can i prevent this
Get her to wash.My daughter is 9 yr old, and has sterted getting spots, and even blackheads on her nose how can i prevent this
Have your daughter to wash her face in Sea Breeze each morning and night. I have 3 grown daughters and them and I have always used this to wash our face before makeup in the morning and to take makeup off at night. Even before they started wearing makeup they did this and they never had any bumps. Sea Breeze is the best there is for that problem.
Use pure aloe vera to clear the skin of bacteria and clear any infections in the pores .. Get her to clean her face to ghet rid of dirt and dust and put on some Forever living Aloe Vera . It will soon clear and keep acne away .
take her to a doc or a dermatologist.
feed her fresh fruit and vegtables, low fat meats and plenty of fresh water. pop, crisps, chocolate and other sweets, and any food covered in crumbs or batter or prepared by frying should be avoided at all costs.

Then, it is never to early to start a twice a day routine of cleanse tone and moisturise, there are plenty of good products out there for young skin.

Also it is not uncommon for 9yr olds to start menstuating so it may be that she is and early bloomer, be prepared.
I would use a soft exfoliating rag to gently exfoliate her face. My 9 year old has the same problem. Girls are simply developing so much faster now. I use Proactiv on her and it works great.

I have acne like whiteheads & blackheads. occasionally pimples. any ideas to prevent or treat it??

    use neutrogena deep clean.

    that works really well.

or you could also try to use clean and clear daily pore toner. i really like that stuff. just wet a cotton ball, and clean your face. you can see the dirt and oil and stuff on the cotton ball. it really cleans your pores out.I have acne like whiteheads %26amp; blackheads. occasionally pimples. any ideas to prevent or treat it??
Something that I really like is L'Oreal Revitalift. It's an amazing exfoliator that you can use up to 3 times a week. I've seen some great improvements in my skin. Over time, I'm hoping that I will have less white heads as well. Anyway, you should definitely exfoliate. Another thing you could do is boil some water and just put your face over it so that the steam opens your pores. That's the best time to exfoliate. Hope this helps.I have acne like whiteheads %26amp; blackheads. occasionally pimples. any ideas to prevent or treat it??
    NATURAL PRODUCTS ARE THE BEST!!!

You can use many products in your own kitchen that are natural and safe to use. Some of them include eggs, honey, oatmeal, extra virgin oil, lemons, etc. But here is a really good (and inexpensive) remedy you may want to try:

Take a whisked egg white and rub it over your face. You can leave it on for 15 minutes or sleep with it on. I recommend sleeping with it because the results are so much better! In the morning do your normal clease, tone, and moisturize! The egg white tightens your skin and leaves your skin soft and smooth. This isn't going to happen overnight (would be great if it did!) but you will definitely see results if you are consistent! If you have acne scars/blemishes use 100% cocoa butter or Vitamin E oil to ';fade'; away the scars.

    ***Also, remember to:

    *Drink plenty of water!

*Keep your hands out of your face!

*Cut back on sugary, greasy, and fatty foods as well as sodas!

*Leave your pimples alone! Do not pop, poke, or pinch them...it's better to leave them alone and let them go away on their own than to wake up with an acne scar/blemish.

*Cleanse, tone, and moisturize your face at least 2 times a day.

    *Stay stress-free!

    ***HOPE THIS HELPS!***

Once you remove blackheads, how do you prevent them from reappearing?

The other day I used some ';blackhead removal strips'; and they worked wonderful. My only problem is that later on the next day I had blackheads in the same area where I used the strip. It wasn't as many as I had before using the strip.

I think the strips are wonderful. If there was only a way that I can prevent them from reoccurring!!! Do you have any ideas about how I can prevent them from coming back??

I once heard that hot water makes the pores open up, is that true? If so, do you think that it is possible that maybe you could use cold water directly after using a blackhead removing strip to close the pores up?

Have you ever used any blackhead removing strips? If so what kind? How often do you use them???

Does anybody ever use Coca Butter on their face, if so, what were the results?

THANKS!!!!Once you remove blackheads, how do you prevent them from reappearing?
yeah cold water closes your pores so when you wash your face in the morning use warm water and then use cool water to close up your pores, i haven't used the strips but there is an acne kinda wipe that takes off all the oils on your face and they're great to use during the day because they don't need water or anything.

  • How do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?

    something that REALLY works

i need something that treats allHow do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?
    I use Neutregena.

Try stridex pads, You can get them at Target, fredmeyer, walmart..ect. Look in the Facial Area. Or makeup area. they Are like Acid Pads, and the clean it really well...!! :] or try a Face masks its called ';night cream'; you put it on, then leave it for 2 mins. then tear it, it tears the black heads, out, and dont worry it doesnt hurt ;]How do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?
    This is what I suggest:

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good consistancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. These two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. But this is not recommended to everyone because it can make it worse.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard when you wash your face, because it can irritate your skin.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one or two tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars. Zinc can be found in many types of fishes.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands are full of bacteria and oils. Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. Aloe vera helps acne scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.
I use a clay mask. It draws the toxins out of the skin. Also, those clear pore things are great! But don't use them too often. My skin has both dry and oily spots and I have problems with both blackheads and regular pimples. The clay mask really help! For a moisturizer, I use organic, unrefined coconut oil. It moisturizes very well, but is also has antibacterial and antiviral properties, so it helps moisturize and kills bacteria that cause pimples.
Just hear me out...ok? Seriously, I tried EVERYTHING on the market and one day in desperation I tried anti-bacterial dish soap on my face! (no, I'm not kidding!) My face cleared up SO FAST!!!

Try it! It's also the cheapest thing too, considering everything else for acne is SO EXPENSIVE!

    I hope you try it!
    Cetaphil works great !

How are blackheads and whiteheads formed? how do i prevent it?

touching the face, and eating junk foods contribute to both black and white heads.

Black heads are oil and dirt pressed down in the poor.

White heads are when it gets infected. How are blackheads and whiteheads formed? how do i prevent it?
the first thing to do to prevent them is to eat healthy foods and wash you face at least twice a day. More than that could wash away essential oils to keep your skin healthy. And don't keep on touching your face especially when you have dirty hands--they can cause other blemishes besides blacks and whitesHow are blackheads and whiteheads formed? how do i prevent it?

Other than avoiding products that are too emollient (meaning thick or greasy creams) and not using moisturizers unless you truly need them, there are really only four essentials for dealing with whiteheads and blackheads:

    1. Gentle, water-soluble cleansers (and avoiding bar soap). The ingredients that keep soap in its bar form can clog pores, and irritation can cause skin cells to flake off before they're ready and accumulate in the pore. The good news is that there are lots of gentle cleansers to consider. It's actually getting more and more difficult to find a cleanser that isn't gentle. Someone with dry skin would want to use a slightly more moisturizing cleanser鈥攂ut be careful: cleansers that are too emollient can contain ingredients that add to the sebum in your skin causing further problems.

    2. Gentle exfoliants that can both remove the excess skin cells on the surface of the face (so they don't build up in the pore) and exfoliate inside the pore (to improve the shape of the pore, allowing a more even flow of oil through it). Keep in mind that the pore itself is lined with skin cells that can build up, creating a narrowed shape that doesn't allow for natural oil flow out of the pore. But don't get carried away with this step. Overdoing it (removing too many skin cells) can cause problems and hurt skin. Exfoliation is essential for both dry and oily skin to eliminate blackheads or whiteheads. Again, someone with dry skin will want an exfoliant that has a more moisturizing base.

The best option for a good exfoliant is a 1% or 2% BHA gel, liquid, or lotion. There are still only limited options for this one, including Olay Total Effects Anti-Aging Anti-Blemish Daily Moisturizer, Paula's Choice 1% or 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid products, and Serious Skin Care Clarifying Treatment with 2% Salicylic Acid. If you cannot use a beta hydroxy acid, you might want to try an alpha hydroxy acid, but AHAs are not able to penetrate the pore lining and affect mostly the surface of skin. That can be helpful, but salicylic acid can absorb into the pore lining and improve conditions.

By the way, topical disinfectants such as benzoyl peroxide or topical antibiotics available by prescription do not help in the treatment of blackheads and milia because there is no bacterial involvement related to these conditions.

    3. Deeper exfoliation treatments for stubborn blackheads and milia are options you may want to consider. Microdermabrasion, either from an at-home treatment (Neutrogena's At Home Microdermabrasion System) or the procedure performed at a doctor's office or spa are options. Also AHA or BHA peels and laser resurfacing may possibly have a positive impact on the appearance of blackheads and milia. However, the research on this is at best limited. Anecdotally, it appears to be an option. Keep in mind that none of these treatments alter hormone function or the structure of the pore, or improve pore functioning鈥攔ather, they temporarily get rid of the surface problem, making the skin look better in the short term.

    4. Absorbing excess oil. This step is for those with oily skin and is not necessary for those with whiteheads and dry skin, because with dry skin the problem isn't about excess surface oil, it's only the oil trapped inside the pore. For those with oily skin, clay masks (that don't contain irritating ingredients of mint, peppermint, camphor or the like) are an option and oil-absorbing papers can also help.

    5. Retinoids play an important role in successfully battling blackheads. Retinoids are forms of vitamin A that can actually help skin cells function normally and improve the shape of the pore so oil flow is normalized and clogs are far less apt to take place. The most typical and well-researched retinoids are tretinoin (found in prescription medications such as Retin-A, Renova, Avita, and Tazorac) and adapelene (found in the prescripton drug Differin). These can be used on their own or with a BHA product. Research has definitely established that tretinoin and adapelene have positive effects on how pores function, and these products should be a strong consideration for battling blackheads or breakouts in general.

    6. Hormone blockers, birth control pills, and Accutane: For those with severe oily-skin conditions, prescription medications such as hormone blockers or certain low-dose birth-control pills can reduce hormone levels of androgens which are the cause of excess oil production. And, when all else fails, Accutane should definitely be considered. Though many doctors are reluctant to prescribe Accutane for ';merely'; oily skin and blackheads, for those with that kind of persistent skin problem, it does not feel like a ';mere'; problem in the least and Accutane can be a cure. Either way these are all options (albeit serious ones) you can talk over with your physician.

    7. Removing blackheads: This isn't a pretty topic, but it is a fact of life and human nature that just leaving a blemish or blackhead alone is almost impossible. Fortunately, gently removing a blackhead or blemish with light-handed squeezing can actually help the skin. Removing the stuff inside a blackhead or especially a pimple relieves the pressure and reduces further damage. Yes, squeezing can be detrimental to the skin, but how you squeeze determines whether you inflict harm. If you oversqueeze, pinch, scrape the skin with your nails, or press too hard, you are absolutely doing more damage than good. Gentle is the key word and, when done right, squeezing with minimal pressure is the best, if not only, way to clean out a blackhead or blemish.

How not to over-squeeze? Although I never recommend steaming the face (heat can cause spider veins to surface and create irritation), a tepid to slightly warm compress over the face can help soften the blackhead or blemish, making removal easier. First, wash your face with a water-soluble cleanser. Pat the skin dry, then place a slightly warm, wet cloth over your face for about 10 to 15 minutes. Once that's done, pat the skin dry again, then using a tissue over each finger to keep you from slipping and tearing the skin, apply even, soft pressure to the sides of the blemish area, gently pressing down and then up around the lesion. Do this once or twice only. If nothing happens, that means the blemish cannot be removed, and continuing will bruise the skin, risk making the infection or lesion worse, and cause scarring. Again, only use gentle pressure, protect your skin by using tissue around your fingers, and do not over-squeeze.

What about pore strips? What has me most concerned about pore strips (which are not as widely available as they once were) is that most people don't pay attention to the warnings clearly printed on the side of the box. Pore strips are accompanied by strong warnings such as not to use them over any area other than the nose and not to use them over inflamed, swollen, sunburned, or excessively dry skin. It also states that if the strip is too painful to remove, you should wet it and then carefully remove it. What a warning! You may at first be impressed with what comes off your nose. (Well, if you have extremely superficial, noticeable black-looking blackheads, there is no question: you will be impressed.) Most people do have some oil sitting at the top of their oil glands (most of the face's oil glands are located on the nose), and whether you use these strips or a piece of tape, black dots and some skin will be removed. Is that helpful? Briefly, but if you use these repeatedly, they will not eliminate the problem and the ingredients on the strip can eventually irritate skin and potentially trigger further breakouts.

The way these strips adhere can absolutely injure or tear skin. They are especially unsafe if you've been using Retin-A, Renova, AHAs or BHA; having facial peels; taking Accutane; or if you have naturally thin skin or any skin disorder such as rosacea, psoriasis, or seborrhea.
first do masage with a scrub wher u hav blackheads then tak steam with it and then u can easily remove ur blackheads easily

I get occasional breakouts, blackheads, pimples, so whats a good product to prevent them?

The best way to go for blackheads and pimples is a gentle exfoliant. It removes the dead skin from your face so your pores don't get clogged up. This is my all time favorite product:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...

It makes your skin so smooth and healthy! This product is very expensive in stores though so I recommend trying to get it cheaper here.

Also, you might want to talk to your doctor about salicylic acid. It sounds scary but really it's just aspirin in a gel form. It dries up the oil glands in your skin that are responsible for making pimples when too much oil is produced and it creates a clog. Pimples really don't have anything to do with dirt (common misconception) and clogging your pores. It all happens from the inside out.I get occasional breakouts, blackheads, pimples, so whats a good product to prevent them?
Use a clay mask to bring the impurities to the surface. Then, use a sugar scrub to rub them off. Open the pores first with steam or a hot shower.I get occasional breakouts, blackheads, pimples, so whats a good product to prevent them?
i use nutragina it works really well

I peeled some skin while picking blackheads, how can i prevent any permanent scars on my beat-up nose?

it feels and looks like i scrapped my nose....i tried putting some aloe-vera gel...but it burns...! let me know what i could do...i know i should stop touching my nose...i'm goin to leave my face alone from now on! It was a big mistake!!!!I peeled some skin while picking blackheads, how can i prevent any permanent scars on my beat-up nose?
apply neosporin and just let it heal. next time you get those annoying blackheads, try biore nose strips (they go on the nose and remove the blackheads after 15 minutes - sold at walgreens, wal-mart, target, etc). Also, there's many scrubs out there for blackheads! Use them AFTER your nose heals. Hope you feel better soon!I peeled some skin while picking blackheads, how can i prevent any permanent scars on my beat-up nose?
try some nose cleansing strips. you wet your nose with water, then apply the strip. when it's dried you carefully pull it off leaving your skin clear. please stop picking them, you will end up with scars all over your face!!
The best way to remove blackheads,is get 2 kleenex and put together, fold them in half, and wrap around one index finger, then do the same with the other index finger so they are both cushioned.Put your fingers on either side of the blackhead and gently push together. You'll be amazed at the oil and dirt that comes out.As the tissue gets dirty, move your tissues around to a cleaner side.BEFORE you do any of this, make sure you've washed your face with a gentle cleanser and rinse with WARM water. You want to leave those pores open so the blackheads come out easier.Another thing you can do, and this is really good to do before removing blemishes.Wash, rinse, and steam your face. Have a small pot of water just starting to boil, drape a towell over your head and put your face close to the pot to get the steam,do this for 2 to 3min. OR, a hot towell on your face till it starts to cool. The most important thing is to have those pores open.Afterward you should wash with a gentle cleanser again.Use some ';witch hazel'; for your toner. This is important because it closes the pores. And even if you have oily skin, use a very mild face lotion WITHOUT MINERAL OIL.Allot of girls think that if they have oily skin that they need a really drying cleanser, not so.What that does is stimulate the oil glands and they'll work overtime. You don't want that.Don't do any of the steam,or the removing of blackheads just before pictures, or a date, etc. It will bring all the impurities up to the surface and some times cause blemishes. If you do this all the time,at least once or twice a week, your skin will be smooth and beautiful.Just don't stop doing it if your face breaks out,it's just all the bad stuff coming to the surface. Also a good thing to do is get a gentle facial mask and use once or twice a week.Just never use anything with mineral oil,not cleansers or make-up.I bet you're already going to take a beautiful pic.But if you do even just a few of these things, your face will glow, and make you even more beautiful! good luck and God bless

P.S. These are treatments done at allot of expensive spa's,so consider this a beauty treament. Also,in the pot of water you use to steam with, you can put lemon peels, orange peels, rose petals, there's also essential oils that you can get from the health food store, and put a drop or two in the water. This is best done in the evening because it will feel so good, you'll want to relax. You'll sleep like a baby, and wake up with beautiful skin.

The strips that allot of girls use, don't get all the impurities out,and as you pull them off, you're also pulling at your skin, which in the long run is not good for your face.
Well, first don't touch it anymore-you don't want to damage it any more! From now on make sure that while you're in the sun, you put lots of sunscreen on it. Try to ignore it or distract yourself from it- even by playing with a slinky during class or playing with a hairband. Remember- don't be worried about what people think about your looks :)

    Acne Marks or Scars

Here is a simple tip that you can use to reduce your acne scars and pigmentation.

    The Oil Cleansing Method

    What you will need:

    Warm Water

    Cold Water

    Clean Towels

    Castor Oil

    Olive Oil

The first thing you need to do is to wash your face gently to remove excess dirt and oils from the surface.

You will then need to warm a clean towel in warm water and apply it to your face for 3 minutes. Do the same thing with the cold water but this time for one minute.

Carry out both the warm water and cold water procedure about 3 times but always finish with cold and then pat dry with another clean towel.

Next mix a small amount of castor oil with a small amount of olive oil. A 50/50 ratio will do just fine. Apply the mixture to your skin and let it stay there for 30 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel and you are good to go.

I have a lot of blackheads around my nose, how do i get rid of them and prevent them from coming back?

Always make sure to exfoliate so you get rid of all the dead skin cells that could clog your pores. Wash your skin with warm water so your pores can open up a bit and when you're done cleansing I would recommend using a good toner for your skin type (oily, normal, sensitive, etc.) In my experience, toners with alcohol can be a little harsh, but witchhazel is a great alternative because it's a mild disinfectant and skin conditioner. Also, a moisturizer with salicyclic acid might help. Avoid touching your face too, because our fingers are full of oils and bacteria that can cause breakouts. Good luck!

P.s. This is a weird suggestion, but sometimes if I'm having a hormonal breakout, whatever, I apply a little Bactine to the problem areas on my face after cleansing. My friend thought I was crazy when I told her to do this (she has problem skin), but it honestly works great on blemishes, even overnight.I have a lot of blackheads around my nose, how do i get rid of them and prevent them from coming back?
There is a lot of different over the counter medications for acne and blackheads. From my experience, proactive has worked really well, but it's really price, also Oxy cleansing pads (the ones in the black container) there is a medication for acne problems thas a foam that you can get from your doctor that works wonders, but it's much less expensive and pretty much equally effective to use stuff from the drugstore, but every product works different on everyone, what works on me may not work with your skin, however one product I know for sure that works for black heads is those strips that look like bandages (Biore cleansing strips),whatever you do after using ANY kind of acne treatment make sure to apply moisterizer with atleast spf15 over it, and make sure to always apply moisturizer no matter how oily your skin is, depriving your skin of moisture strips down the skin and clogs pores even more. Also always drink plenty of fluids, a hydrated body always shows more radiant skin.I have a lot of blackheads around my nose, how do i get rid of them and prevent them from coming back?
I agree with Valerie G about Proactive since i have tried it before...but it is kinda pricey, Why dont you go for the generic of Proactive, Yes there is a generic...Try asking about it in your local drug store or something. Or you can also Try Clearasil or Cetaphil....both are very effective, affordable and very gentle on all skin types.
Cleanse your face with unboiled milk, gently rub a coarse cloth dipped in milk to remove the blackheads. Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. How do u prevent blackhead?

i hate black heads and i dont know what to do when i get them they are so annoying .. do u know any way to prevent them??How do u prevent blackhead?
Blackheads can happen to anyone, no matter what your skin type. Blackheads are caused by oil in your skin that gets caught and expands in the pores. Oxidizing from exposure to the air, the oil actually turns black.

what works for some people might not work for everyone but here are some things that you can consider.~

First, stop the problem before it starts. Use noncomedogenic, oil-free, water-based skin-care products. (Noncomedogenic means the products were laboratory tested and approved by the FDA not to clog pores and cause blackheads.)

If you change your skin-care routine and still get blackheads, speak to a dermatologist about getting a prescription for Retin-A, which is a strong exfoliant that opens pores, sloughs off dead skin and cleans out blackheads.

If all else fails, a dermatologic facial performed at a dermatologist's office involves a prescription-strength acid that gets rid of dead layers of skin and the use of surgical instruments to extract the blackheads.

Blackheads are a problem that should be treated by a dermatologist. But, if you want to try an over-the-counter product, a lot of people rave about Biore Pore Perfect Strips, which are supposed to lift out blackheads on your nose, forehead and chin.

Hope this helps~How do u prevent blackhead?
biore strips, and wash your face with an astringent everyday
    stay away from the ghetto
    try proactive solution it helps
Blackheads are caused by excess oil getting clogged in your pores. The way to avoid them is to wash with a gentle facial cleanser. If you don't have acne (whiteheads), then avoid benzoyl peroxide solutions, because the problem isn't bacteria, but oily pores. Something mild like Neutrogena will prevent your skin from drying out and producing even more oil to compensate. It's important to not wash too aggressively. Makeup can contribute to blackheads because it may clog your pores, so avoid wearing heavy makeup. Gentle exfoliation is also key, so try a mild scrub once every two or three days. Avoid getting hairstyling products on your face. And don't touch your face unless you're washing, because your hands get dirty from all the things you touch through the day, and you can transfer bacteria and dirt to your face that way.
Exfoliation and washing your face everyday. I use that 3-step skincare system from Clinique. It really works. And so does Pro Active.
try using a koalin clay masque to open the pores and really clean out your skin...

the heated mask from The Body Shop is the best one I have tried but it is a little expensive...

if you can find Queen Helene products...the Mint Julep Masque is really nice and not too expensive...

also, deep cleanse and mosturise with a light, oil-free moisturiser morning and night...Olay for blemish prone skin is nice or try Neutrogena...
Use a mild exfoliator a few times a week and wash your face every night.
if i did i would tell u but quite frankly i have the same issue.

  • How can i prevent and avoid having pimples ,blackheads, whiteheads?

Always clean your face, dont touch it with dirty hands. Also +1 with the AcneFree, im using it right now and it does wonders! How can i prevent and avoid having pimples ,blackheads, whiteheads?
I recommend using a tea tree soap bar twice a day. Then after apply Tea Tree Oil. It is natural and the oil is an antiseptic so it kills germs on your skin. It doesn’t dry out my face or clog pores. I have been using it for a few months and my skin is 100% different. Make sure you use it everyday. You will see results in a week. You can buy it at health stores and one brand I use is “Thursday Plantation”. It is about 15$. I highly recommend this practice. It really works and is good for your skin! :) Good luckHow can i prevent and avoid having pimples ,blackheads, whiteheads?
Focus on food for healthy skin.
drink nothing but WATER and use this product from Walmart called Acne-free. It comes in an Orange bottle for $30.00 and it Really works!

It helped to control my breakouts. %26lt;3
    clearasil is quite good

I am prone of having blackheads, is thre any suggestion of what will i use on my face to prevent this?

Cleanse the face thoroughly with a good cleanser meant for oily skin. Preferrably use a salicylic acid cleanser.

Apply an astringent like witch hazel. It helps reduce oiliness. If its a bit harsh mix a bit of rose water in it.

Apply a good quality medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. You can get creams or gels of Benzoyl Peroxide treating blackheads If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.

Effective Tips to get rid of blackheads

鈥xfoliate the blackhead prone area 3-4 times a week using facial exfoliators and scrubs.

鈥se creams containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells and ';expose'; the blackhead. Use the AHA's every 3 days or so.

鈥void washing the face with soaps more than twice a day. Instead wash your face often with plain water splashes.

鈥ften use a mask with a clay base.

If blackheads look ready to pop out, you could try removing them gently by using a blackhead extractor. Also, Pore cleanser strips (blackhead extractor) for removal of blackheads are highly recommended for the treatment/removal of blackheads. Using them once per week will leave your pores cleaner and smaller.

Steam your face to soften both the skin and the material blocking the pores.

    Hey,

If you get a gentle blackhead cleanser, I know Clean and Clear has one, and I hear it's good!

Sometimes using a face mask just exfoliates it doesn't get to the root of the blackhead problem.

Good luck.I am prone of having blackheads, is thre any suggestion of what will i use on my face to prevent this?
Blackheads result from skin cells that accumulate in open pores. So, I scrub my face with a pot scrubber, (green abrasive on the back of a sponge), apply an astringent, and then a light skin conditioner. I like Intensive care lotion. But it you have oily skin, you will probably have to scrub your face twice a day.
use a face mask a lot of them say they get rid of blackheads u just gotta read what it does on the bottle i got a face mask for 3 dollars and it works so don't spend a lot of money :-)
you can get rid of it by using mask...

or, take the white eggs only and soak a cotton or tissue in it.. then, puzzle it on your face... after a few hours, take it off.. it might hurt a bit, but it'll leave a soft skin and no blackheads... by doing it twice a month would leave no stretch marks on your face..

Beat white part of an egg. Add one teaspoon of honey and with a cotton swab, apply it on face. Keep it around half an hour and then scrub well and rinse with warm water. This is also good for blackheads and dark spots. Check out http://useinfo-blackhead.blogspot.com/ for more useful tips to control blackheads.PLEASE HELP!!!! PREVENT BLACKHEAD SCARRING!!!!!?

Product that prevents blackhead/whitehead from forming.. any suggestion?

research it here this is the site my brother used when going through med school

  • Once you remove blackheads, how do you prevent them from reappearing?

How do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?

    something that REALLY works

my skin has dry and oily spots

i need something that treats allHow do i eliminate and prevent pimples and blackhead/whiteheads?

And don't keep on touching your face especially when you have dirty hands--they can cause other blemishes besides blacks and whitesHow are blackheads and whiteheads formed? how do i prevent it?
blackheads are formed becouse of oily skin,i have oily skin and mild blackheads previously, wash thoroughly your nose but be gentle, use a mask of fresh smashed apple on your face, leave it for 10-15 min. use it more than once and see the effect.thier is also neutrogena wash product for it.
blach heads and white heads are formed due to the infection that occur in the skin pores.they are actually like the puss that are formed in a wound.

Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness. it's disgusting to see someone having a bulky nose because of blackheads.. ewwww...How can anyone prevent blackheads? especially on the nose..?
Clean it out daily, especially after having makeup on. You can kind of squeeze blackheads out, too. Not as easily as pimples, but all it basically is, is dirt, oil, and makeup, squished into the pores.

Use a biore' pad once a week, too, to keep it cleared out.How can anyone prevent blackheads? especially on the nose..?

there are cleaners you can find at the drug store made specifically for blackheads. for clearing them out and for prevention.
these are small pimples blocking a pore of skin .go to any good medicalhop they will give you which you stick and some time you can remove when thet also comes along .

Use biore pore packs to get them out.
Blackheads are caused due to very oily skin or large pores. The best way to get rid of blackheads or prevent blackheads is to cleanse your face daily. It's also best to use the oil papers to get rid of the oil on your face even on the go. Getting facials once a month is effective, and also using the 3-step skin care system such as shiseido or clinique. BUT it's imperative to get rid of the blackheads first then maintain with the skin care system. One can also buy the blackhead remover but it will be a little painful, so your best bet would have to be getting a facial once in a while.
give a good massage for 2 min on nose.use cotton dipped in lukewarm water in which put some salt and soda bicarb.keep this on nose for 5 min.it will open the pores.and t`hen remove the blackheads
Sorry I am not sure how to prevent them, but I do like to use Biore nose strips to clean up my nose!
They have new items for blackheads on the market now. Biore`s is a tape moreless that pulls the blackhead out. Never dig at the blackheads they can scar your nose. Try boiling water and then pour into a pan hold your head over the water with a towel on your head so that the steam can open your pores then have your sister gently rub the blackheads out. Use a astringent after. Good Luck....
To prevent blackheads always be sure to wash your face at night, blackheads are created by sebum (oil) that gets exposed to the air which makes them black...you can also extract them but before you try this be sure that you hands are clean, steam your face to get the sebum to soften up,and just squeeze them out.
Wash your face with apricot cleansing cream, gently massage your nose with this cream, then rinse with luke warm water... If possible use nose strips.....

    Hi Trisha...

many ways to keep yourself away from black/white heads... USE good scrubber, for exp. LOREAL. you also get the blackhead stripes in the supermarkets.

And without spending much money easy home treatment is.. boil water... pour it in a big vessel and steam your face by covering with a towel.. so that the steam is not going out..

cover your nails with tissue paper and slowly press on nose with two finger nails... so that they come out easily...DO not cream your face... just use a toner.
Don't eat anything greasy or eat chocolate. Don't touch your face with your hands too much, or the natural oils that are in your hands will collect in your face. This is all I can think of to help you.
daily cleaning of skin..%26amp; use a specific scrub 4 blackheads like ';neutrogina'; it's a good 1

How can i get rid of blackheads an prevent them from coming back I need a Cheap way thanks :)?

    Try a natural exfolliant like:

    -1 Egg White

    -1 TBS Honey

    -1-3 TBS Finely Chopped Oats

Whisk the egg white and honey together in a bowl add a TBS of FC Oats. Until it forms a past if it is still runny add more FC oats. Then relax for 10 minutes. Then Wash Off

A paste made out of baking soda and water is great for blackheads and is gentler so you can use it a couple times a week.

Otherwise just keep your face clean -- wash twice a day, don't exfolliate more than 3x a week. How can i get rid of blackheads an prevent them from coming back I need a Cheap way thanks :)?

Stop fiddling about with your skin and just wash it with soap and water once a day.

Maybe you are messing about with it too much?

Leave it alone and it will get better.

The more you wash it with stuff, the more it will get greasy and develop blackheads.

Eat a good diet, full of fruit and vegetables, and stop worrying.

If it gets really bad, then see your doctor; there are some really good treatments that can help, but they are only on prescription. How to prevent blackheads and oily skin???!!!?
It's just something you have to deal with. You can't get rid of them, you just have to put up with them. You're doing so many things, but this probably isn't doing you much good. You really shouldn't wash so often. If you wash to much, you can actually end up causing a skin condition, and I don't think you'd want that.

I know it's really annoying, and you feel self conscious, but seriously people really aren't bothered about it. Like you will feel self conscious and worry that someone will say something or make a nasty comment, but seriously, they won't care. They might not even notice.

I use this ointment called Germolene, and it really helps. I just rub it on my spots before I go to bed and in the morning they have really cleared up. Unfortunately it doesn't help with blackheads. But I definitely suggest you get some if you get spots. It's made in the UK by the way, so if you're in the U.S I don't think they will have it there.

    Hope I helped, good luck!
You may be doing too much. Washing your face too much dries it out, and then your skin overcompensates and produces too much oil, therefore making your skin even oilier. If you haven't already, I suggest seeing a dermatologist if you are unsatisfied with your skin.
may be it could be your diet, may be too much fatty food or may be it is your skin type. If your an oily skin type then you should be more gentle on how you rub the cream on it or how you clean it. For more information visit

ok. stop shaving you legs for a few weeks then use a clean razor and a lot of shaving foam or whatever to shave your legs. use sugar to exfoliate before you do this then moisturise a lot. oh and make sure the razor doesnt have too many blades...you only need one or two!! good luck!

i dont know what causes them , but i know that neutrogena's blackhead facewash(i think they have a few kinds?) are quite good, also, u should try using a steam treatment that they have in some beauticians, put a steam machine over your head to open up all your pores and use a needle type things to get the blackheads out physically.

  • Blackheads, is there any way to get rid of or prevent them?

I've had blackheads on my nose and chin since I was a young teen. Now I'm 32 and they just seem to be getting worse and worse, the more I scour, squeeze and wash (I know you're not supposed to squeeze), the worse they look. Now they're starting to appear on my forehead, cheeks and sides of my mouth and it's so disgusting. I think people must think I never wash my face. I've squeezed them for years as this makes the skin look better, but a few days later they're all back again, plus my nose pores are getting quite large. Could a dermatologist help? Any ideas anyone?!Blackheads, is there any way to get rid of or prevent them?
I know that coming from a guy this is going to sound typicall, but if you live near the beach try to spend as much time in the water as possible. I had a friend with poor quality skin and she started to surf. It wasn't more than a few weeks all her black heads and very minor acne cleared up. As well as regular facial cleaning is a must. If not I am so convinced that salt water was the trick, try washing your face with salt water on a daily basis.Blackheads, is there any way to get rid of or prevent them?
I wash my face usually 4 times a week at night with a salicylic acid (found in some acne wash products). The best one to use is the Oil-Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser by Neutrogena. After you wash your face immediately pat down with a cotton washcloth. After it's somewhat dry, put an OIL-FREE lotion on it. If it's all the way dry your face may dry up and peel even if you put the lotion on it. Hope i helped!
this article has some treatments on acne and scaring that could help you
use nuetragena blackhead removal face pads, they work great, the first time i used it about half of mine came off.also it helps to prevent them, and since i have been using them i dont have or get anymore.

what I use is uhh BIORE BLACK HEAD REMOVAL ULTRA
I use the Revlon black head remover when I am in the bath tub. My pores open up and I gently scrape the tool along my face. I think it works great. It's cheap but don't leave it in the bathtub or it will rust.
Have you tired Biore pore strips?
Take it from me...because I've battled acne all of my life and I'm 36--I have tried everything and what really works and fast is Oxy with Benzoyl Peroxide. It tightens your pores, dries up the zits almost overnight, fades the redness. It can dry your face a little, so always use an oil-free moisturizer with sunscreen. The sunscreen seems to help keep the zits away, too. If none of this helps...depending on how severe your case is, Acutane works wonders but has bad side effects. It does clear up very bad acne, though. I used it when I was 20. Also...stay away from any make-up or powders that have any kind of oil and always moisturize your face at night and before putting on make-up. It keeps your skin from producing too much of its own oils. I have tried it all and Aveeno works good...the moisturizers, facial cleansers, eveything. Also...use L'oreal Visible Lift make-up base...it has sunscreen and glycolic acid so it helps shrink pores and keep your face from breaking out. Diet has a HUGE factor in keeping your face clear and blackheads from forming. Drinks LOTS of water (this in itself can keep zits away) and avoid too much of cokes, tea, coffee, chocolate. These things really do break you out. I think it effects your nerves and speeds up your oil formation and therefore causes ZITS ! Have them only occasionally and you'll be fine. I can tell a big difference when I have stayed away from that junk. Keep your shower clean, also. The build-up of mold/fungus/algae can also lead to acne on your body and face. Always use clean towels every time you shower and always use clean rags and hand towels. After a while of this routine...you'll see the difference. Good luck !!
